From the Archives: 2010 - Amr El-Banna's Fashion Show at the Four Seasons

Dolly Shahine in a Wedding Dress in Alexandria and Chocolate Fashion in Cairo

As part of her tradition of supporting her friends, Lebanese star Dolly Shahine graced the catwalk in a white wedding dress designed specifically for her by Alexandrian designer Amr El-Banna. The show was held at the Four Seasons Hotel San Stefano in Alexandria. Despite showcasing only one dress, Dolly stood out as the star of the show.

Dolly confirmed her participation just an hour before the fashion show began, and the hotel management prepared a private suite for her. Amr El-Banna presented 50 dresses during the event, including ten wedding dresses in varying shades of white, and around eight engagement dresses in colors such as pink, red, "hanem flesh," beige with silver, and beige with black. The evening wear collection featured a mix of white and black, mauve and black, and combinations of these colors with off-white and red.

Dolly Shahine and Amr El-Banna have shared a close friendship for several years, during which she has worn his designs in various TV series and films. Among these were sitcom episodes where she starred alongside comedy legend Samir Ghanem, wearing three of El-Banna's creations, including a red dress shaped like a rose and another shaped like a heart.

Amr El-Banna, a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, majoring in oil painting, has channeled his artistic talents into fashion design. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection showcased at the Four Seasons marked his 15th fashion show. Lighting for the event was orchestrated by artist Ihab Abou El-Soud.

In another creative highlight, Dolly Shahine wore a chocolate dress designed by Amr El-Banna for an international chocolate competition held in Cairo. The event featured a group of Egyptian designers, including renowned artist Hany El-Behairy. In this extraordinary celebration of fashion and art, Dolly Shahine dazzled in the unique chocolate dress, captivating attention with its blend of elegance and innovation.
